What on earth happened Honda?
![]() 08/10/2016 at 23:37 |

They got old and senile?
![]() 08/10/2016 at 23:42 |

Yeah, sounds pretty accurate

They discovered the buffet restaurants. All you can eat, is never good in the long run. It is like the cute girl in high school who was fun and athletic, then got lazy in college, and now has a high stress job with student loan deadlines....

They realized that people wanted a car with safety and features?
![]() 08/10/2016 at 23:45 |

they make new shiny ones so teenagers will start leaving the 90s/00s ones available for me

Same thing that happened to Nissan, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes: clean designs aren’t the in thing anymore
![]() 08/10/2016 at 23:53 |

I kind of think he’s talking about the styling.
![]() 08/10/2016 at 23:55 |

So bland and uninspiring to ugly but interesting?
![]() 08/10/2016 at 23:58 |

That’s one interpretation. I loved the way my old ‘96 DX looked. Very clean and simple.

Creases and lots of lines and leering eyes are bold and exciting, ask any mainstream brand designer (and most normal consumers). It just needs some DLO fail or a faux floating C-pillar.

They’re doing fine.
![]() 08/11/2016 at 00:09 |

Well yeah, but they also made it look like transformer vomit. If there was a hatchback version of the civic 2 generations ago I would’ve included that too. Those are safe and have features, and they’re also pretty good looking

I'm glad Volvo and to some extent, Audi are staying sane and classy

The Fit is one of the very few new Hondas that I actually like
![]() 08/11/2016 at 00:13 |
|
You're quite right. I hate all of it
![]() 08/11/2016 at 00:13 |

I think it’s ugly, but there are more offensive cars out there, like the Malibu.

The 2 generations ago Civic? Or the current one
![]() 08/11/2016 at 01:20 |

Current. I think the two generations ago Civic is fine, attractive in coupe form even.

It’s a shame all the Audis look the same though. On the line between over-styled and under-styled, Audi is too far on the under side.
![]() 08/11/2016 at 03:06 |

Agreed, I don't think the new civic is the ugliest thing out there, it was just the one I was thinking about
![]() 08/11/2016 at 03:08 |
|
Yeah that's fair, but same goes for the BMWs and Mercs. They're a bit overstyled, but also manage to all look mostly the same
![]() 08/11/2016 at 05:14 |

What, like this?
![]() 08/11/2016 at 07:23 |

While it’s better than the rest, this gen is worse than last gen. The Honda way.
![]() 08/11/2016 at 07:42 |

i’ll blame this:
![]() 08/11/2016 at 08:25 |

I think of these as the having some of the spirit of the 90's Civic hatch.
![]() 08/11/2016 at 10:05 |

Those are kind of interesting, but they’re also the first case of the civic getting bigger and more overwrought I think. I forgot they existed, we never got those in North America
![]() 08/11/2016 at 19:53 |

They’re all consistently overstyled. Overtsyled but also boring. That’s madness!

I actually prefer the way the Versa looks to the Fit, especially with those stupid bumper vents.
![]() 08/13/2016 at 14:26 |

Urgh, Kia did that stupid bumper thing too:
Car designers: If you are going to do a fake splitter make it all black and do not add body color underneath it.
